Formed during Easter 2005, Junkyard Groove is an alternative funk rock band with Ameeth Thomas on vocals and rhythm, Sid Srinivasan on lead, Craig Maxworth on bass, and Jerry Abraham on drums.
The last two years have seen Junkyard Groove morph from a little-known 4 member crazy act into one of India's foremost rock bands.
Their sound is fresh and funky, with a definite international appeal, though they maintain ties to their Indian identity with signature indian folk elements running through some of their most popular tracks.
Junkyard Groove's major international debut was at the Dubai Desert Rock Festival 2007 where they played along with legends Iron Maiden, Robert Plant, Incubus, Mastodon, The Prodigy and many other internationally acclaimed artists.
Prior to DDRF they had won Shamal - the battle of bands featuring acts from across the Middle East and Asia, and as a result were signed on by Creative Kingdom Records.
Junkyard Groove's first album will be released internationally in early 2008 and is eagerly awaited by fans from across the world.
JYG is also featured on hip hop artist Kaz Money's debut album on two tracks (a collaboration that also includes Simon Web of "Blue" fame).
